RESPONSE TO YOUR "INVITATION"
December 27, 2025.
December 27, 2025.
The parishioners of St. Sava Church in Cleveland received an announcement from the so-called "Temporary Board of Trustees." They invite "everyone" to return to church—but the trespass notices are not withdrawn. This invitation smells like a trap.
Why This Invitation Is a Trap

Key Omission in the Announcement
The statement says: "Everyone is welcome – including those who have received legal notices."
But nowhere does it say: "The trespass notices have been withdrawn."
These are two completely different messages. One invites people to worship, the other – directly to arrest. As long as the legal threats remain in force, the verbal invitation sounds like a classic trap.
The Lie About "Unity"
The chronology of events speaks for itself:
December 5: While Father Dragoslav lay bedridden, the locks on his house were changed. Children were crying, the protinica collapsed from shock, and the police sided with the intruders.
December 21: Mothers whose children have attended Serbian school, Sunday school, and folklore in the church building for years were served trespass notices. Six police cars were called on peaceful families praying outside in -10°C weather.
December 26: A message about "unity" was posted, along with Psalm 133.
No one wants that kind of "unity."
Advice to Those Who Received Notices
Do not enter the church until you receive:
Written withdrawal of the trespass notices
Legal confirmation from the temporary board's lawyer
Assurance that entry will not lead to arrest
As long as those threats stand, the invitation is just words – and words do not cancel court papers.
What the Announcement Did Not Address
Not a single word mentioned the change of locks on the father Dragoslav residence, the destroyed security cameras, or the disappearance of the antimins and other sacred items.
Instead of answers to substantive questions, we get only a biblical quote and the hope that the faithful will forget everything that happened.
Where True Unity Is
True unity should not be sought in announcements and police cars.
It is outside.
Over 120 families stand together in snow and ice. Mothers who will not abandon their principles. Teachers who resigned rather than serve injustice. Young people who defend their church.
That unity is growing. It cannot be bought with false invitations nor stifled with threats.
It is precisely the defense of principles on which no compromise is made that makes it genuine.
UNWORTHY.
Offered in the spirit of honest dialogue and hope that substantive issues will be addressed rather than papered over. We remain committed to the Serbian Orthodox faith, canonical procedure, and genuine unity that comes through truth and accountability.
